1000 Books Before Kindergarten

The 1,000 Books program helps parents and caregivers develop early literacy skills in their children and build a solid learning foundation before they start school. It encourages parents and children to integrate reading and the public library into their everyday lives.  The program is open to all babies, toddlers and preschoolers who have not yet entered kindergarten/5k.

Stop by the library to register your child and receive a reading log to keep track of the books shared together. You can record every book you read with your child, and each time you reread a book you can count it again.

We hope you’ll join us in promoting early literacy skills! View the brochure here.

1st Grade Field Trips

Each spring the library offers field trips for 1st graders from surrounding schools. Children have a tour of the library and receive their own library card.
